MONDAY

As I have said before –I REALLY HATE MONDAYS. Rainy mondays are even worse than REGULAR mondays.

It’s also cooler this morning.  In the 40’s. We’ve been having mid-high 70’s.

I need hoomanz today.  All my hoomanz had to go to work.

Boy I sound depressed………

SHEEP AND WOOL IS SATURDAY!!! I have to get up early early and drive to Squirrel Hill and board the bus that is leaving at 6 AM and ride for 4 hours!  or 4-1/2!  They expect us to get there at 10:30!  I hope so since I want to get to the RAVELRY get together and meet some folks from there and get a button and stuff.  Too bad dogs aren’t allowed at the fairgrounds –I’d love to see BOB!

Speaking of BOB –did you see the pictures of Bob and his bling on Ravelry??  How funny is that??

GREY’S ANATOMY finally came back on Thursday night.  I can’t say I was crazy about the episode, although I was happy it was on.  Meredith really needs to get over herself.  Izzy is still acting like an idiot.  It seemed kind of a jumpy story.  Everyone on the forums is hating Rose.  I think she and Derek are cute.  I can’t wait for Addison to come back for her episode or two guesting.  McSteamy was funny complaining about Rose and how he has waited for Derek and feels slighted.  LOL! They are supposed to be getting a new male surgeon too… wonder when that will be.  I haven’t read to see how many episodes they are doing before the season ends, have you?

Well.. that’s about it for today.  Nothing exciting going on here in rainy, chilly western pennsylvania!

FAT CAT

Now this cat is really a hefty hoagie:

I saw this over at CUTE OVERLOAD but then went to read the article about it.

I love it.

I am admittedly a cat person. I love animals in general. Right now I am cat-less and really ache sometimes when I am looking at cats/kittens. It’s like that baby ache when people say “their ovaries hurt”. Hubbo said several years ago, after we lost Scruffy Mae, no more cats. Well I then proceeded to bring home two dogs. (He has since said “no more dogs”). My son is allergic, so I can not indulge myself with a kitten and make my son ill. So I get my cat fixes by enjoying other peoples cats. When it gets really bad I go to Petsmart and play with the cats/kittens there. I need to find pictures of Scruffy and Miss Kitty and Fumbo and scan them into my computer. I will add that to my TO DO LIST. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs/puppies too.

But there is just something about a cat….especially a fat one!

I swear you can actually see the grass growing.

It’s monday. I hate mondays. I don’t know why I hate mondays.  I know why I hate tuesdays.

Saturday was good.  I took a drive up to Cranberry to visit with Yvonne and Becky at Panera Bread.  We had a good time. It was the first time to meet Becky and I thought it was pretty funny that she got all excited when she found out that I was “Chez Clutter”.   I remember the first blog meet up I went to at MSWF and how great it is to meet people you only knew through blogdom.  I was up there for 4 hours or so and then Yvonne and I went to MOE’s to grab a bite to eat.  She described it as “a mexican subway”.  Of course she meant the sandwich place, not where the dirty little trains run.  I got a quesadilla called the JOHN COCTOSTAN. It was good, but my stomach paid for it later!  I tasted that all night.

I did do some knitting.  I started a “stash busting” felted bag with the cascade 200 I have in the stash.

Then on the way home I was in the grocery store and spotted this taste treat:

Uh.. no thanks..I’ll pass on that one….

GREY’S ANATOMY is supposed to come back on this week with a new episode.  Well it’s about TIME is all I can say.

Well have fun and talk to me!!!!

Beautiful day

This is an unseasonably warm day here for Western Pennsylvania. A little TOO warm for me. I prefer the 60’s and 70’s, the 80’s are getting too hot to suit me. WHINE WHINE.

The weekend is here…well almost, it’s friday after school, to me that’s the weekend.

The bratty neighborhood kid finally went home. THANK YOU! All he does is fight and argue. So I am glad he left and I don’t have to listen to it anymore. Most of my son’s friends are nice, but this one is like EDDIE HASKELL from LEAVE IT TO BEAVER. I guess there is one in every bunch.

I have some GREAT NEWS!!! I won a drawing over at the blog EXTREME ADVENTURES IN MOTHERHOOD!

She had a drawing for the book More Big Girl Knits

and she picked me!!! So it is on it’s way to me. I am so excited! It’s a great book that was on my WISH LIST!

Thanks TRACY!!!!!

Anyway, tomorrow I am trekking to Panera to meet with Betsy, Yvonne and Becky and do some knitting. It will be good to be amongst kindred. I had one of those weeks that I wanted to hide in bed all week.

I bought a CD this week –COCO by Colbie Caillet. I like it. Sorta folksy.

DID YOU LOVE SURVIVOR LAST NIGHT? Tribal council was great. I loved the result. Bye Bye Ozzy.

Well, you have a nice weekend. Take care and talk to you soon!!!!

Tuesday alone.

Well the boy went to school today. He was just horrendous when he got up yesterday; sore throat, coughing– so I kept him home and took him to the doctor’s to make sure he didn’t have the strep that is going around. (Recently, three kids in our area have actually died suddenly from having strep ). Thankfully he doesn’t have strep. He was however in the midst of a severe allergy attack, for which she recommended ALAVERT. We both used to take ZYRTEC, but the insurance quit paying for it and now with it around $1 a pill over the counter, it is a bit pricey. Kleenex has been alot cheaper. So I am trying the ALAVERT

So he got up and went to school today. I told him “to give it a shot” and he got a big grin –and I said, “DON’T YOU BE GOING TO THE NURSE’S OFFICE NOW, UNLESS YOU ARE REALLY SICK”. So we shall see how the day goes.

I am glad someone is still reading the drivel that I write, I have been doing it so sporadically. Thanks everyone!!

I have gotten into this procrastination cycle. Got to figure out how to shake it.
funny graphs

(I love the charts at that site–many of them are very funny.)

My weekend was good, and short.  The boys went to CAMP CONESTOGA for TENDERFOOT CAMP on Saturday and spent the night. They were home Sunday Morning.

Betsy and I hung out for the day on Saturday. Thanks BETSY!!

We went over to BONNIE KNITS to see what was on sale. It’s too bad she is closing, but not surprising.  She used to be the only game in town.  She was the first LYS I ever went to.  but before there was BONNIE’S  in Monroeville and KATHY ZIMMERMANN’s place out in Ligonier and OTTER CREEK up the northern wilds, but that was about it.  Let’s see, now there are Kathy’s, Bonnie’s(which is closing in May), Natural Stitches Knit One, Bloomin’ Yarns, Dyed in the Wool, Ewe can Knit (downtown), Tonidale, one in Canonsburg, one in Oakmont (whose name is eluding me at this moment).  Sort of overkill. Maybe that is not all. I have not been to all of them and maybe there are more! I guess I should be thankful that we do have such an abundance of knitting supplies available.  However, it seems like you are forced to buy something everytime you go in just to keep them going — they all follow you around — I’d rather just have the opportunity to walk around. But that is me, if I need help I will let you know.  Nine times out of ten I know what I am going for before I go. I actually just looked at the yarn and didn’t buy.  I honestly didn’t see anything that was calling my name or saying BUY ME, BUY ME!  Betsy bought some lovely FROG TREE ALPACA, which much to my amusement, her cat literally attacked and was biting, almost instantly from the time she brought it home.

I get my cat fixes from other people’s cats….. I do miss having a cat.

I didn’t go to the quilt class.  There was just too much prep I needed to do and too much to buy.  They have one every month and I have been trying to get there, and have not succeeded yet.  It’s a gal from the Irwin Area Quilt Guild.  She holds this at a church in MANOR once a month (usually the 2nd saturday, I believe).  It only costs $5, which is donated to the church for the use of their facility.  They make some sort of quilt every month, which is pretty cool in my opinion.  I really liked the one this month –it was from the book QUICK TRIP QUILTS by Eleanor Burns.  I did get the book at Joann Etc so I can do one on my own.  To make one in a full/queen size I needed 24 fat quarters (18″ x 22″) of different matching fabrics, or 24 one half yard pieces. I have been picking up fat quarters and remnants in shades of light blues with the intention of making a quilt but I didn’t have 24 of them and really didn’t have time or the money go go and buy more in time to do the prep work that was needed.  I had enough to do a lap sized (which only needed 12 FQ’s) but I wanted it to replace my “blankie” that I sleep under everynight, which is really getting RATTY.

So anyway, back to the weekend. Betsy and I had a nice day together. We were at her house for a while, she was at my house for a while.  And I got a good night’s sleep because there was no snoring.

Well, I guess I have rambled for enough time today.  Take care and talk to you soon!

Yeah I did it again.

I keep changing the blog theme.  Just can’t make up my mind.  I wanted something different…fresh…. but everything is boring -me -half- to- death.  My life is like that. It bores me half to death most of the time. I really waste so much time that it is ridiculous.  And procrastinating!! Good gravy.  I’ve lately been saying “I’ve been going to joing PROCRASTINATOR’S ANONYMOUS, but I just haven’t been able to get around to it.”

This weekend the boys will be going on a camping trip.  So I will be free to do the same thing I do every other single day of my life — NOTHING!!!

Actually I can go to a quilting class Saturday –but I have to get my butt to the fabric store and buy some fabric and get it washed pressed and cut before saturday morning…. plus I have to get the stupid crappo sewing machine to stop looping.. the tension was off when I had to use it the other day…

I sound depressed, huh?  I really am not too bad. Better than I have been in past days.

THE DOG JUST BURPED!!!!

I still need to do the taxes.  I have a couple more days yet….

I really hate the work schedule that Disneyland Dad is on.  He doesn’t get home until 7 pm (from 5 AM) and then it’s shower, eat dinner and an hour before it’s time to hit the sack.  It’s to be a long job (2 years maybe?) but it’s only going to get worse.  So far he is working 5 days.  He is trying to not do Saturdays as long as he can hold out.. he says it is probable inevitable.  I guess I shouldn’t complain, at least he is working

So much DRAMA going on around RAVELRY.  The Magknits threads alone — come on people –

The biggest thing going on here is that we have been going to a different church… after about 26 years…We’ve been wanting to leave for a while. We’ve been attending another local church and it is very nice –WAY MORE contemporary than what we are used to.  Modern music.  No hymns.  I am not comfortable yet — feeling a little discombobulated right now.  I have felt for a long time that I would rather not go AT ALL.  I guess there are some people feeling a little put out that we left the other church….. time to move on…..like everything else, it only took us a year and a half to do it after deciding we were going to leave.

No, I didn’t watch IDOL GIVES BACK.  I lost interest in the show totally. No one thrills me and it’s “same old, same old” you know??  I haven’t been watching it or DANCING WITH THE STARS. No one on there interests me either.

Now we watched ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS and it was adorable!  Very cute show.

well nothing exciting going on around here, OBVIOUSLY.
Thanks to Dani, chickee, I think you are the only person reading me anymore!!  LOL!!
