Well, September is here already! It is unbelievable how fast this year is going by.
What have I been up to:
My internet has been screwed up since last friday. I finally got around to calling Verizon and they are coming out between 8 AM and 8 PM Friday to check it out. OK. Like I don’t have anything else to do.
I have been working on my Mr. Greenjeans.
The Malabrigo is wonderful, the color is amazing. I am just about ready to start the cable part. In a couple rows the pattern says “now try this on for size”. Ok.. I’ll do that.
What else is new?
I went to THE QUILT CO up in Allison Park on saturday to pick up a few items that I needed (and a few extra).. very nice store. I’d like to go again when I have more money!!! And some to go and ooh and ahh with me!! LOL!!
Speaking of oohing and aahing. My republican friends are all so happy that McCain picked Mrs. Palin (I don’t know her first name). I don’t really know anything about her, she is an attractive woman. What is she supposed to be their version of Hilary? I really am not thrilled about anybody that is in the race, so it doesn’t really matter to me. I know, it should. I think the country is up the proverbial creek no matter which bozo gets in office. So if the old coot gets in office and he dies (they make people retire alot younger than he is), we get a woman who was the mayor of a town the size of the little one I grew up in, and the governor of a state. A state that is not highly populated, has a high level of alcoholism and spousal abuse, a state where most kids that go to college graduate and leave the state, a state that is primarily federal government subsidized. But, marijuana is legal, they have that going for them. And Woo she’s a wife and a mother!!! I hope she has a good nanny because that is apparently who is raising her children. She sure won’t have time to do it if she is vice-president. Oops, sorry Mr. President, can’t come in today, my kid is sick.
Political posturing in the churches INFURIATES me.
So we shall see, the people of NOLA are still waiting for aid–I would have moved somewhere else by now, don’t know about you.
Oh this is just sounding like an old lady complaining.

What really REALLY drives me nuts is McCain running for office. WHAT ARE WE TRULY STUPID. Here is a conversation in your family. Well dad have you thought about what you want to do as far as living arrangements? You should consider a senior living environment cause at your age I don’t want you to be alone. OH WAIT you could live in the white house and run the country. Screw the memory lapses lets do like Reagan I don’t recall and go with that.

I wouldn’t say ‘happy’…I would say ‘thrilled’, ‘elated’, ‘excited’, ‘energized’, ‘thankful’, ‘warm fuzziness’, ‘light and airy’, and last but not least…full of ‘HOPE’…There’s ‘change’ for ya!!!!!

Only the true diehard Republicans are happy with the Palin choice, from what I can see. Everyone else– especially women– who aren’t diehard Republicans (meaning Democrats and Independents alike) feel like McCain is insulting their intelligence in his pick. Well, I’ve already gotten on my high horse about it, so I won’t open the can of worms further. But I have brought up one other point that you have, which is the motherhood part. I have no problem with a mother being in executive office. HOWEVER, she has a teenage daughter who is pregnant (yet she is against abortion, and from what I’ve read, is in favor of promoting abstinence for sex education. Hmm…that really worked here!), and her youngest baby, who is not even 6 months old, has Downs Syndrome. Now, to be honest, I’m sure they exist out there, but I’ve never known a mother of a Downs child that was a career woman. That’s what bugs me more. Having a child with mild disabilities, I know that if I hadn’t been home, he wouldn’t have gotten the proper attention and support he needed to get to where he is today. I’ve known several kids with Downs, and I don’t know that their moms are working moms, or at least they weren’t when they were very young. THAT’S what bugs me. Instead of taking care of her child who has a very severe condition that will take a lot more attention than her other children had at that age, she’s running for a national office. That just doesn’t make any sense, opportunity of a lifetime or not. She’s not a family person, if you ask me. Hope that she knows how to shake up the health system so that she can pay for the special education and “no child left behind” that her youngest will need. :-S

Oh my gosh you put exactly how I feel about the insult like oh its a woman lets vote for her. I also agree whole heartedly about the being at home for your child. My son had a heart defect and it was so hard the first year.
Oh and one thing that got my goat is the idiot poked fun at Obama because he isn’t a veteran. Wasn’t it last election that they made fun of vets with purple hearts?

OH and another thing the religious right is such a bad call. Why would a religious or even a good person say I don’t want to wait for a procedure and I don’t want united health care so the uninsured can die? That is just not right.
